We had another busy meeting in November with 30 members joining us at Oakbank for a very informative and inspiring day. Our chair Ali Currie gave an informal demonstration of the traditional approach to silk shading techniques using long and short stitch. This was followed by Lucy Freeman’s talk ‘Painting with Thread’ . Lucy shared how she had developed her own style of thread painting and we were able to see several beautiful examples of her work. She very generously shared many hints and tips to encourage and inspire members to try the technique for themselves. Her website provides more details and the option to buy her kits.
