April Meeting – From Essence to Substance

We had another great turnout for our April meeting. During the Stitch and Chat our Chair Ali demonstrated the construction of the puffs for the Calico Dress project – you can read more about it here and see some of the motifs already completed by our members.

We were then taken on a fascinating journey of Joanna Kinnersly-Taylor’s career and the evolution of her very methodical and detailed print process Joanna uses the medium of print to create textiles that achieve a greater visual depth. She shared examples of her work, explained some of the diverse commissions she has delivered and how her work has evolved to fully embrace key themes that have always preoccupied her.
