Twenty members attended our February workshop led by award-winning textile designer Chloe Patience. We started the morning with a presentation from Chloe, explaining her inspirations, design practice with examples of her work for film, Timorous Beasties and as co-founder of Bebaroque.

We had a great turnout for our first meeting of 2026, 19 in attendance in the room with another 15 joining on online to hear our guest speaker, Vanessa Marr, talk about the Domestic Dusters Project.

Our last meeting of 2025 began with a beautifully presented and delicious buffet provided by local social enterprise Giraffe. Members enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with each other and a visit from a special guest in red who distributed the Secret Santa gifts.

We had another busy meeting in November with 30 members joining us at Oakbank for a very informative and inspiring day. Our chair Ali Currie gave an informal demonstration of the traditional approach to silk shading techniques using long and short stitch.

Our members enjoyed a great workshop in October led by tutor Sue Crawley from Sunshine Designs.

Celia Joicey, Dovecot Studios Director started the Stitch Colour Cloth 2025-2026 season with a talk about their current IKEA Museum’s Magical Pattern exhibition. It was a fascinating subject and Celia also shared the process and challenges of curating such an exhibition .

In addition to our regular programme of events as members of Stitch Colour Cloth we also have opportunities for one off events, such as the visit to AllanbankMill Steading on Sunday 1st June 2025. Following on from our extremely successful exhibition in May at Perth Theatre our community stitch project has been finished and presented to the theatre.

The 3rd Stitch-Colour-Cloth exhibition at St Matthew’s Church, Perth was a wonderful opportunity to share the work of our members, chat to visitors, sign up new members and launch the 10,000 Art Angels, The Children’s Global Tapestry for PEACE project.

Our exhibition “Perspectives” at St. Matthews Church in Perth kicked off today with a bang! We opened our doors at 2pm and counted 62 visitors until closing time at 4pm.
